How can atmosphere, landscape and movement become architectural tools for designing different levels of care?
Hijacking the Hill asks how atmosphere can become a tool for designing different levels of care. Reimagining a steep hillside as shared civic terrain, the project uses lightweight interventions to invite drifting, pausing and mutual support. Informed by Situationist ideas, it treats movement, privacy, exposure and informality as design materials. Programmes of counselling, sexual health, housing, making, food and music shift from protected intimacy to public exchange, proposing care as something unfolded through landscape, atmosphere and collective life.
