AirStories: Invisible Atmospheres and the Politics of Air
How might architecture produce new forms of evidence through which atmospheric pollution can be collectively recognised and publicly governed?
AirStories examines how architecture might participate in new forms of environmental governance by confronting the political consequences of atmospheric invisibility. Situated within Turin, the project asks how societies might govern environmental conditions that evade perception yet profoundly shape collective life. Beginning with the Turin Smog Trial, it interrogates the disconnect between pollution and the frameworks through which responsibility is established. Reimagining architecture as a civic instrument that records and performs atmospheric change, AirStories transforms invisible pollution into public evidence, repositioning the atmosphere as a civic commons requiring collective stewardship, accountability and care.
